Official: President of Russia’s ALROSA signs notice of resignation
SOCHI, Feb 27 (PRIME) -- Andrei Zharkov, president of Russian uncut diamond mining giant ALROSA, has signed a notice of resignation, Deputy Prime Minister Yury Trutnev told reporters on Monday.
“He has already left, Zharkov has signed the notice. The decision will be made at the next meeting of the (supervisory board),” he said.
Finance Minister Anton Siluanov, chairman of the board, said that the meeting will be convened very soon.
Previously, media reported that the government is discussing Zharkov’s replacement as allegedly his views on the company’s development did not coincide with government ideas. Media also named Sergei Ivanov, a senior vice president of Sberbank and son of presidential envoy Sergei Ivanov, as the only candidate discussed by the government to replace Zharkov.
